Description
This is for anyone who has yet to read Crime and Punishment and has their doubts as to the adorableness of Russian literature. There is an honest-to-goodness scene in a book about crime and morality and the duality of human nature where Razumikhin and Nastasya (servant girl from downstairs) force a very unwilling Raskolnikov try on the new clothes they bought for him and just banter for a couple pages about what good bargains they got while he sits there and sulks. (This is directly after his master-plan of escaping town was foiled by the fact that he immediately curled up on the couch and fell asleep instead.)
Also this is the scene where Dmitri uses the phrase "United pants of America" without explanation.
