Ludwig II

Here is a picture of my very most favorite Bavarian prince, Mr. Ludwig II. [link] Called the Swan King and also Mad King Ludwig, he has a very beautiful and tragic history. He was a big Romantic, supporter of music, and a dreamer- he is responsible for building Neuschwanstein, one of Europe's most beautiful castles: [link] There was a political plot to overthrow him (largely because he was spending way too much money building castles) and rumors were falsely spread that he had gone mad. He was deposed on grounds of insanity (though perfectly sane), and mysteriously assasignated in 1886.
